Meet the breeder

I'm Jessica J., the breeder behind Coastal country Farms located in Aberdeen, WA. I’ve been breeding corgis for 3 years, starting with my three foundation females Sandi, salti and Shelli who are all tri colors, and my foundation male Bernie. I breed for health and temperament, we raise ours on our farm so we make sure they are properly socialized with farm animals, children.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Before I got my girls, I had only met a handful of corgis all who I was told were “aggressive” towards kids. Then I met the mama to my girls and was shocked at the difference between health well bred corgis vs badly bred. And it inspired me to help the breed by having ethical breeding practices and focusing on temperament and health as our primary focus.

  • What makes your program special?

    Here at coastal country we focus on healthy stable corgis that are bred with a purpose: companions but also working dogs for farm life! We prioritize socialization at a young age, making our puppies well rounded from the start. We ensure their temperament, health and structure with pairing proper sires and dams who compliment each other.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppies include fawn, red, sable, blue, and black and tan. American Corgi puppies include fawn merle, sable merle and white, red merle and white, red, liver and white, fawn, brindle merle and white, brindle and white, blue merle and white, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from Jessica

Jessica has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Jessica partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

“For us we do things a bit differently, we take temperament and ideal environment for each puppy very seriously, we do Volhard temperament testing around 6 weeks of age, as well as make notes between birth and then on what each puppies behavior is like, how they respond to certain situations. When a buyer is interested in a puppy we will screen the home to ensure they match the puppy’s individual needs, this means that it can take a few litters for families looking for a specific color/ gender to get the right fit for them but it also ensures the puppy and families best option for success. ”

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,000 - $3,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • DNA Disease Panel, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I), PRA, Rod-Cone Dysplasia 3 (rcd3)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Our son has wanted a Corgi for years and again requested a puppy for his birthday in July. My wife sent a link to Jessica’s Coastal Country farms mid June. I contacted Jessica and she was swift to respond, and ask valuable questions that would best pair a puppy’s personality with our sons.
