I'm Kaelyn W., the breeder behind Coastal View Kennels located in Lusby, MD. At Coastal View Kennels, we strive to produce stable, healthy family pets and versatile show and working prospects.   • Why did you start breeding?

    I started fostering for local rescues and breed-specific rescues. I never understood the need for stable and healthy family pets until I dealt with these dogs first hand and it inspired me to truly understand what it takes to be a reputable breeder. I got involved in dog sports and showing my dogs in AKC Conformation shows until I felt confident enough to start my own program.

  • What makes your program special?

    We don’t have to claim championship bloodlines because we make those Champions and Grand Champions ourselves. All of our dogs have been shown in AKC Conformation shows! We go above and beyond for our puppies with large indoor and outdoor spaces to play in and tons of socialization! All of our dog are health tested via OFA and we spend countless hours researching pedigrees to produce healthy dogs!

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include black, black brindle, gray, and gray brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and guardian homes.

Puppy prices include a $1,000 deposit and between $2,500 - $4,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • Hip Dysplasia , Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary)

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI), Elbow Dysplasia (Preliminary)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation , Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), PRA Dominant (DPRA), Mastiff Type, Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis 1 (NCL1), Cane Corso Type, Dental-skeletal-retinal anomaly (DSRA)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
