Meet the breeder

I'm Kayla F., the breeder behind Coppertown Retrievers located in Calimesa, CA. Here at Coppertown we are dedicated to breeding quality Goldens in a holistically healthy and developmentally appropriate environment. Cared for by 4 kids and parents, our dogs have the interactions needed to deliver a well-rounded family member.

Q. & A. with Kayla

  • Why did you start breeding?

Coppertown was intentionally planned about 4 years ago and we reached out to our Colorado family for the purchase of our family alpha dog and stud, Goose. 2 years later, we began the search for a high quality female, and Lola was our choice from a reputable breeder in Maine. Both come from high pedigree lines and have cleared the health certs needed to begin breeding. Join us on our adventure!
  • What makes your program special?

We are a small breeding program, dedicated to each litter. We never overlap litters, making sure each litter gets the attention it deserves in regards to health, social interaction, and environmental acclimation. We have 4 kids ages 7-13 who are daily involved with the stimulation and care of the pups, so you'll have puppies who are socially versatile!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are dark golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
