Meet the breeder

Q. & A. with MaKayla

  • Why did you start breeding?

My aunt has been mentoring me and I have been watching her and observing her over the last couple years and I fell in love with American corgis and Pembroke Welsh Corgis and decided I would love to breed them so everyone can have such a unique color and loving breed 🥰
  • What makes your program special?

I believe my program is special because I have such a passion for breeding corgis and I love the breed. I live on a very big farm and my dogs get a lot of exposure to the sounds of horses, ATVS, heavy machinery, and more while outside in their play area.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our American Corgi puppies are blue merle and white. Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppies include sable, white and black, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

I absolutely loved working with MaKayla! Not only was she super responsive, but she’s continued to answer questions and help give me puppy advice even after the adoption! We adopted little Daisy and she has been so sweet! You can tell she was raised in a loving environment and has adjusted well to our other dog, kittens, and kids. Daisy (and MaKayla) were an answer to our prayers. We had lost our corgi of 14 years a few weeks prior and Daisy has been a balm to our hearts. Thank you MaKayla! I plan to use MaKayla again if we get another corgi puppy in the future.

Makayla was amazing from beginning to puppy pass off. She was incredibly responsive to any questions we had and was super flexible with our needs when meeting to get our sweet girl. She has also been very helpful this first week answering any inquiries we have. Our pup is an absolute angel and had a perfect health check up! She practically potty trained herself and is such a calm baby!

MaKayla made the process so easy. Great communication. Answered all our questions and more. Daisy (formerly vidia) is socialized and very well mannered. They did a very good job raising her. Super smart and very easy to train. We can’t thank her enough for everything.

Makayla was amazing. I’ve dreamed of a corgi for years now and she helped make it happen. She responded so quick and made the process so easy! My puppy, Meredith, is such a delight. She’s well behaved, socialized and has an amazing temperament! We were sent home with a goodie bag of all the essentials. I couldn’t recommend Corgis of the Mountain Valley enough!

My husband and I was looking for a Corgi puppy for about a month. Luckily we saw MaKayla’s posts. She was super nice and wonderful to work with. Since this is our first time having a puppy, MaKayla knows that our first week with Silvermist must be rough. She really cares and always answers our questions asap. Silvermist is an energetic girl, clingy and treat lover. We are happy that having her as a family member in our house.
