I'm Aaron T., the breeder behind Creek Flats Retrievers located in Waterford, PA. We say we breed the way we want to buy. Willow is biddable, intelligent, athletic, and playful. She stands 23" tall at the withers and weighs 58 lbs. We have completed a full genetic panel through Embark and have certified her hips, elbows, eyes, and heart through OFA.
Q. & A. with Aaron
Why did you start breeding?
Simple: our passion for dogs. Our dogs have brought us so much joy and we want to share that with the world. We had one beautiful, healthy litter of 10 puppies with our Labrador and retired her from breeding. Our plan is to do the same with our Golden Retriever.
What makes your program special?
Our dogs of course! But also, the pups are whelped in our home and remain in our home until they go to yours. They are exposed to all of the everyday home sounds. They are socialized well with people of different ages and different animals.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Labrador Retriever puppies are chocolate. Golden Retriever puppies are dark golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

About Willow
HR Dove Creek's Thunder Struck Willow - "Willow" - is biddable, intelligent, athletic, and playful. She has a high prey drive, but has an off switch at home and in the hunting blind. Willow has excellent manners and hunts and trains with style. I believe her puppies will excel in hunting and agility sports. Her sweet disposition and alacrity make her a joy to be around in and outside of our home. The proven field pedigrees of Willow and the sire of this litter, HRCH Dove Creek's Smoke Wagon Express MH - "Colt" -, will no doubt make excellent working dogs. Willow stands 23" at the withers and weighed 58 pounds at breeding.

Creek Flats Retrievers reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Golden Retrievers.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Ichthyosis, Golden Retriever Type
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis 5 (NCL5), Golden Retriever Type, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), PRA, Golden Retriever 2, PRA, Golden Retriever 1
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
