Breeder of Bernedoodles

Meet the breeder

I'm Rebecca S., the breeder behind Creekside Doodles located in Brenham, TX. We are huge animal lovers and have a special place in our hearts for our dogs. We want to provide top-quality beloved companions. We commit ourselves towards preparing each one of our puppies to thrive in their new homes, and we enjoy working with their new families so that they can raise their beloved companions with confidence!

Q. & A. with Rebecca

  • Why did you start breeding?

It has always been an interest of mine to breed dogs, but I never truly started researching and pursuing it until we got our first Bernedoodle, Tess. I take her out with me in public frequently, and found that I was constantly being approached by people asking if we were planning to breed her. People everywhere we went admired what a beautiful, gentle, and smart creature she is and couldn’t help but want one of their own! Breeding became something that was often on my mind. We chose to go ahead and begin a breeding program with her because she is absolutely the kind of dog that would be a tremendous blessing to any family. She is the ideal companion dog: a calm and kind temperament, devoted to her people, trainable and intuitive, and beautiful and low-maintenance. I would clone her if I could, but feel that breeding her to an excellent sire is the next best (and actually doable - haha) thing! I am honored that you would consider bringing a part of our family into your home.
  • What makes your program special?

We say our puppies are “hand-raised.” What this means to us is that our puppies live in our home and are an active part of our household. They hear vacuums and other appliances, preparation of meals, music from dance parties, lots and lots of voices, and are handled all the time by our children. We introduce crates to help facilitate crate training at home. We play the same music every night as a routine to help them know that it is time for the household to settle down for bedtime. We take them out frequently during the day starting around week 5 to help get a head start on potty training. In all aspects of our puppy care we have in our mind the goal of helping the puppy have the most stable temperament and trust in humans that they can, and to make the transition of welcoming a new puppy into your home as low stress as it can be for both the family and the puppy. A good dog - whether working or as a companion - is breathtakingly beautiful thing. It is my personal goal as a breeder to love our puppies so thoroughly during our brief time with them that for the rest of their lives they will be able to live confidently and up to their maximum potential for having been thoughtfully cared for by us during their youngest days.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable, black, black and white, tri-color, and phantom. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
