Meet the breeder

I'm Barbara P., the breeder behind Cross Creek Brittanys located in Floyd Knobs, IN. My goal is to improve the breed and to have them do what they were originally bred to do: be a family dog and hunting companion. My program has been breeding AKC sporting dogs for 35 years and is home to many champions. All of my dogs are health tested prior to breeding. I will only breed Brittanys that I would put in my own home; ones that are laid back, but with the true desire to please and are natural in the field. I am passionate about my work and look forward to connecting with you!

Q. & A. with Barbara

  • Why did you start breeding?

My love is my show/field dogs. I first became interested in showing dogs in 1978 and have decades worth of experience. I began working with Brittanys in 1998 because I found their temperament to be more stable and family oriented. I strive to not only produce beautiful puppies and continue my show line, but to help promote responsible breeding in order to ensure that the Brittany will continue to thrive for generations to come.
  • What makes your program special?

My dogs are dual dogs who have earned a championship in both the show ring and at field trials. As a breeder and a veterinarian, I feel a sense of responsibility to prioritize the overall health and temperament of each of my puppies, and to ensure that they are loved and well cared for prior to joining their forever homes. I work with passion, heart, integrity, and truly want what's best for the Brittany line.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include white and orange, white and liver, orange and white, and liver and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Willow is growing I took her for her vacinations and Vet check she is 11 lbs 12 oz. She is a quick learner and gets along well with my wifes small dog. She is walking on leed without much resistance in back yard. Waiting for 2 more weeks before I take her out for a walk. Allot of chewing and biting after meals working on this with chew toys typical puppy. Hoping this will stop once she is done teething. She has a high prey drive so I think she is going to be a good gun dog. This is the puppy I was hoping for she gets and gives lots of love.
