I'm MONICA G., the breeder behind CURLS KENNEL located in Upper Marlboro, MD. At Curl's Kennel, we have spent over 16 years responsibly raising beautiful purebred Standard Poodles with a deep respect for the breed and a genuine commitment to each puppys well-being. Raised in our home, our puppies recieve loving care, early socialization and thoughtfuul placement to help them thrive in their furever homes.

Why did you start breeding?
My journey into breeding began with a genuine love for Standard Poodles and a deep appreciation for their intelligence, elegance and affectionate nature. I wanted to help other families experience the same joy and companionship that makes this breed so special. That passion grew into Curls Kennel and a commitment to raising puppies responsibly—with loving daily care, early socialization and thoughtful preparation for life with their future families. More than 16 years later, I still find it incredibly rewarding to watch each puppy grow and become a cherished family companion.
What makes your program special?
What makes Curls Kennel special is the personal care and intention behind every puppy we raise. We don’t simply raise puppies—we prepare loving family companions. Each puppy receives daily hands-on attention, early socialization and gentle introductions to grooming, household routines and new experiences. We take time to learn each puppy’s individual personality and thoughtfully match them with a family whose home and lifestyle are a good fit. With more than 16 years of experience, our program is built on love, responsibility, transparency and a genuine commitment to creating lifelong connections between our puppies and their families.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from MONICA

MONICA has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, MONICA partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $250 non-refundable deposit and between $750 - $1,250 final payment, before taxes & fees.

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. CURLS KENNEL reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Standard Poodles.

Hip Dysplasia , Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA), Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Sebaceous Adenitis (SA), Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
