Meet the breeder

I'm Jennifer T., the breeder behind Cypress Bayou Poodles located in Lake Charles, LA. Family-owned Louisiana kennel raising versatile Standard Poodles for hunting, performance, & companionship. Our dogs are raised with a strong focus on health, temperament, trainability, and family connection. We are passionate about preserving the Standard Poodle as a true sporting dog.

Q. & A. with Jennifer

  • Why did you start breeding?

Our passion for the breed grew through training, hunting, and AKC and UKC events. This inspired us to start Cypress Bayou Poodles to preserve the intelligence, versatility, and sporting abilities of the Standard Poodle. I am thankful for the mentorship and guidance from experienced breeders. My goal is to produce healthy, well-rounded dogs that thrive in the field and at home.
  • What makes your program special?

Our program is focused on intelligence, trainability, natural drive, sound temperament, and strong family connection. We plan to use Puppy Culture, ENS, ESI, and puppy evaluations to help match puppy-to-family. Our puppies are raised in our home with exposure to children, home activities, water, bird wings, sounds, textures, and new experiences to help build confidence from filed and home.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are apricot. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
