I'm Rick C., the breeder behind DaneLand Farm located in Clayton, WA. DaneLand Farm is a family friendly 19 acre farm that is home to Great Danes, horses, and goats (and various shenanigans…) We have over 40 years experience of raising and loving the Gentle Giants known as the Apollo of dogs. Our dogs are bred with a focus on health and temperament while maintaining good conformation, athleticism and intelligence. We are dedicated to providing our clientele with wonderful, healthu familu companions .

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include white, black and white, mantle, merle, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Rick

Rick has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $600 - $1,700 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes 2 year health guarantee, AKC pre-registration, first rounds of vaccinations, deworming, and puppy socialization. Deposits are to reserve a particular puppy and also arrange any needed transport, microchipping, and health exams.”

DaneLand Farm reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Great Danes.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Vet Wellness Exam

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Rick and Darlene are amazing!! Really good, honest and caring people who love there Danes and it shows!!! I stumbled onto them after losing my big girl, RubiJane and they happen to have a beautiful litter of mantle Danes and my heart lept with hope. There happened to be one beautiful boy, Mr. chill who just had the biggest most beautiful eyes and was just calling for me to come get him. And so I did. With both RICK and Darlene‘s guidance I was able to make it out to DaneLand Farms and meet this little man and bring him home. They were so wonderful making sure we had everything we needed and that we got home safely and everything was going well And I am just very thankful to have found them and to have found my new family member.
