Meet the breeder

I'm Cari O., the breeder behind Darling Paws Bernedoodles, LLC located in Bennett, CO. We are not a kennel or a large breeding compound. All puppies are born and raised in our home. Our goal is to produce healthy, happy and beautiful pups to their FURever homes. As lifelong dog lovers, owners, breeders and a professional groomer, we take great pride & care in the puppies we breed for you. Your puppy will get the individual attention and stimulation needed for quality adolescent development. Your newest family member will have hypo-allergenic qualities, an easy-going temperament, amazing train-ability, loyalty and intelligence. These are only a few of the reasons we choose to breed the two most popular breeds in the AKC.

Q. & A. with Cari

  • Why did you start breeding?

My family has bred and raised dogs since I can remember. It has changed over the years but has gone between Standard Poodles and Australian Cattle Dogs. I enjoy the mixture of both the Bernese Mountain Dog and the Poodle and so that I wasn't competing with my family, I decided to breed Bernedoodles since I already fell in love with their personalities.
  • What makes your program special?

Our program is special because we are intimate. As large responsible breeding programs value the integrity of their pups, so do we. We believe in all the same health and genetic testing to ensure quality puppies are born. Since our puppies are raised in our home, they gain socialization and get desensitized to the world around them so when they go home, they are ready to join your family.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include brown, sable, black, tri-color, phantom, blue merle, and merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Cari was very helpful during the selection process with lots of knowledge about every question we asked throughout the process! She was very attentive, patient, and timely with us as well as very kind during every step on the way! Since being home, Tito has enjoyed his golf cart rides, side by side rides in the mountains, and endless snuggles and playing and that’s all thanks to darling paws!

Cari was incredible throughout the entire process of getting our new puppy, Kona, from information about her and the litter, to puppy needs, to supplies, to helping with transportation, to training and grooming help. She was quick to respond and answered my many questions with patience and support. She was very transparent and honest about each puppy, their temperament, and all of her dogs’ health history. She even helped me set up transportation for Kona to where I live and made the process smooth and easy. She also sent Kona with many supplies to help us start to take care of her which was so helpful. I would highly recommend Cari to anyone wanting a bernedoodle. Thank you so much!

Cari made this the best experience. She sent us pictures and videos from the time our puppy was born until we picked her up, so we really felt like we were a part of our puppy’s life from the beginning. Cari has continued to be supportive since we adopted our puppy, and stays in touch with us, and is available whenever we have questions. Cari is a responsible breeder. The parents have all been checked for their health and Cari provides you with the documentation. The puppies and their momma live in her home. They are socialized with people, other dogs, and cats. We can tell our puppy, Ola, was well cared for and loved by her temperament. She loves people, is playful, and adjusted easily to our home. Cari started calling her by the name we gave her, so she arrived responding to her name when we called her. And since Cari was honest about our puppy’s personality, we were prepared for the dog we got. We picked Ola up and because of the attention Cari gave her, she was ready to begin potty training, learns quickly, loves to play, and is kennel trained. We couldn’t imagine a more wonderful puppy.

Getting Bailey from Cari was a great experience! The process was smooth snd stress free, she was very responsive, knowledgeable and timely with everything! Bailey is already potty trained and was in the process of crate training by the time I picked her up, Cari goes above and beyond to make sure her puppies are happy and healthy! If I had to do it again I would definitely go through Darling Paws Bernedoodles!
