Dogs are health tested above and beyond CHIC requirements, diversity tested, and proven in a variety of ways. My dogs are proven in sports, show, and companion titles.

About Ripley
Ripley is our foundation bitch. Brought in from Crystal Creek Poodles, she is a dream dog. Ripley has an amazing temperament and great drive. She has an incredibly goofy personality and is 100% the brown clown. Ripley is handler focused. She is neutral to friendly to strange people and is friendly to people she knows. She is dog friendly. Ripley is an amazing sport dog. She has very high prey drive and high toy drive. I have been able to use toys as a reward in training as equally as treats. Ripley is cruising along in her sport dog career. She is spending 2023 working on her RACH, prepping to start trialing in agility, and a variety of lure sports and canine powered sports. Ripley is excelling in her Service Dog training. She is task trained, and her public access skills are excellent. She is solid and steady at my side. Ripley is in the process of being corded. This can take 8 to 18 months to be show ready, and we hope to enter the AKC ring when it is. She will continue to work on her UKC conformation titles while in the process. Ripley is a multiple group placing dog in UKC
Good health testing
Good level
Dawning Hope Poodles reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Standard Poodles.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I), Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures (NEwS), PRA, Rod-Cone Dysplasia 4 (rcd4), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
