Meet the breeder

I'm Laurie B., the breeder behind Denali Kennels located in Dallas, TX. We raise our litters in our home to help set the foundation for happy and confident puppies to transition well into their forever homes. It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to make an impact on each individual puppy!

Q. & A. with Laurie

  • Why did you start breeding?

I had wanted a Golden Retriever since I was 20. When I bought my first house, I wanted a male Golden and got one. I started training him in obedience. He was a great dog and I was in love with him. When he got older, I wanted a puppy from him, so I got a female from a member of the Golden Club and bred my first litter. The rest is history.
  • What makes your program special?

Since the very beginning of my breeding program, I have focused on breeding healthy dogs. That has paid off. The average age of my dogs has been to live to around 13 years. My breeding dogs seldom have to go to the vet for anything but their rabies shots Of course, I do believe in prevention by using Nuvet supplements and have my puppy buyers use them too, They build the puppy's immune systems and I believe play a big part in my dogs' health.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include dark golden, golden, and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
