I'm DEBORAH D., the breeder behind Deragon Papillons located in Portland, OR. I strive to meet the AKC standard & all of my dogs are health tested. I only use parents who have passed the required health tests & have been granted a CHIC with the OFA in my breeding program.   • Why did you start breeding?

  • What makes your program special?

    I selectively pick the parents based on genetics, structure, temperaments and color. All of my dogs have their CHIC #'s through the OFA, meaning they have passed every test and can be bred to produce healthy puppies. I also use the Puppy Culture program with my puppies to help them become wonderful little dogs, start crate training and house training and socialize them with many different people.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from DEBORAH

DEBORAH has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

DEBORAH partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“AKC limited registration $3500. If you purchase through Good Dog you will have to pay the fees they charge me of $227.50 plus the $3500 for the puppy. Fill out my puppy application to get on wait list. If you find a puppy you want, you can put a deposit on it after it is 8 weeks old. It will hold it till it's 12 weeks old. I do not take deposits on unborn puppies or to be put on my list.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Deragon Papillons reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Papillons.

  • Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA), Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
