Meet the breeder

I'm Angelee A., the breeder behind Deseret Peak Goldens located in Salt Lake City, UT. We strive to produce healthy, intelligent, beautiful puppies. All parents are AKC registered, have had health testing, and are well behaved and very loved family members.

Q. & A. with Angelee

  • Why did you start breeding?

I grew up with a family that bred and showed quality AKC Beagles. So from a young age I have been taught how to raise and care for healthy, beautiful dogs. When I was a young adult I purchased my first Golden Retriever and I have been passionate about the breed ever since.
  • What makes your program special?

We try to focus on quality, not quantity. We are knowledgeable and experienced, but are not a large kennel by any means. We produce only a few litters a year, and our dogs are family members first. Each parent either lives with us or is in a wonderful guardian home so that they each get the love and life they deserve! We find so much joy in sharing our love for these special dogs, and placing puppies with their new homes.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include dark golden, golden, and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

Angelee was absolutely amazing to work with from start to finish. We had originally reached out to her with what we were looking for and she stayed in communication with us. The timing ended up being perfect and she was extremely helpful in answering all of our questions. We are confident that if you choose her in finding your forever puppy, you will be pleased. Angelee sent us updates throughout the entire process and our puppy came home to us extremely happy, healthy and playful. He has a great temperament and is well mannered just as she had described. We can't recommend Angelee enough. She even recently reached out to check on us and ensure everything was going smoothly and was so happy to see some updated pictures of our pup.

It was such a pleasure to work with Angelee. She answered any and all questions I had. You can tell the puppies are well taken care of and so loved. My golden girl was worth the 6 hour drive from Colorado to Utah! ❤️

Angelee was wonderful throughout the entire process of adopting Cosmo. You can truly tell how much she loves and cares for her dogs and puppies. She was responsive, knowledgeable, and kept us updated every step of the way. Cosmo came to us happy, healthy, and well socialized, and it was obvious he had been raised with love and care. Even after bringing him home, she continued to check in and offer support. We are so grateful for our experience with Desert Peak Goldens and absolutely adore our sweet boy, Cosmo.

Angeles is such a responsive, kind and professional breeder to work with. Before we picked up our puppy, she was super prompt in responding to questions and messages, the information she shared as a part of his go-home package was super clear and helpful too! We couldn’t be happier with our now 10-week old English Cream Golden, he is such a character and is fitting into our family so perfectly.

From the moment I arrived in SLC and met Angelee I knew we had made the right decision. Angelee isn’t just a breeder; this is someone who genuinely loves these dogs and cares deeply about where they go. She was communicative, kind, and clearly poured her heart into every puppy in that litter. I don’t know how to explain this without sounding completely unhinged, but as soon as I met this puppy I was completely in love… he has the cutest face ever. Like ever. Actually the most adorable face on planet Earth. He sits and just stares into your eyes like he’s reading your soul and honestly, I let him. He already knows sit, down, and “gentle” when taking treats, all in under a week. He’s not a puppy. He’s a tiny golden genius in a fluffy suit. We’ve had dogs before. We know puppies. But Duke is without a doubt the smartest, most loveable, most people-pleasing puppy we have ever had the joy of raising. If you’re even thinking about getting a golden retriever, stop thinking and just do it. You can’t go wrong with a puppy from Deseret Peak Goldens. This is not a paid review in anyway just one very very happy puppy family!
