I'm Katie B., the breeder behind Desert Doodles located in Mesa, AZ. Our dogs are bred for health, temperament, and intelligence. We strive to produce the best overall pets and family members. We treasure each puppy in our program and give them all the attention and care that we possibly can. We work hard so our puppies can leave our home with confidence.

Why did you start breeding?
I have always loved animals. I was the "animal freak" of the family. After watching and assisting with my parents dogs, I knew I wanted to do it myself some day. I was so happy to finally get my husband on board in 2018. We love it and have since built a beautiful family lf our own alongside every puppy that we have brought into the world. We pride ourselves in raising healthy family pets.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our Goldendoodle puppies include miniature and medium sizes. Poodle puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Goldendoodle puppies are red. Irish Doodle puppies are red. Poodle puppies include sable, black, red, and phantom. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.

Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Good breeders can be difficult to find, especially for a relatively "unusual" breed of puppy. We contacted Gooddog to find a breeder for an Irish Doodle puppy (Irish Setter/Poodle cross). The breeder we chose was Katie Brown of Desert Doodles in Mesa, Arizona (breeder of Irish Doodles, Poodles and Mini Golden Doodles) because of her reputation and location to us. Katie told us she had a litter of Irish Doodles ready to leave in a few weeks but were all spoken for. She put us on a wait list and, amazingly, a puppy became available. Katie was very accommodating with information on the puppy as well as arranging a convenient pickup day and time. When we arrived at her facility, Katie answered our questions, had our puppy's vet/health records for us, food for our 6 - hour trip and our puppy had been freshly bathed. We have kept in touch with Katie, who readily answers our questions and happily receives updated stories and pictures of our puppy. Katie is always available with kindness and information. Our puppy, Sadie, is healthy, sweet, smart, social, and loves all animals and people (especially children). We are anxious to work with Katie of Desert Doodles again for another Irish Doodle puppy.
