I'm Velate L., the breeder behind Desert Puppies located in Tucson, AZ. I’m a stay at home mom we live in a farm about a hour out of tucson AZ. It’s always been a dream of mine to breed dogs. I breed American Cocker Spaniels and Moyen poodles. I’m a small home breeder I only have two females and a male.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our Cockapoo puppies are mini size. Poodle puppies are moyen size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Cocker Spaniel puppies include buff and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Velate

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 refundable deposit and between $700 - $1,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Velate may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    After talking to many different breeders, looking at several puppies in order to decide which was the best fit for me I went ahead and purchased my puppy Violet (formerly known as Rose) from Desert Puppies! I reserved her about a month before she was due to go home and within that month Velate kept me updated on her growth almost daily with so many pics and videos and whenever I had a question she was always super informative and quick to respond!! I flew from California and was able to pick my puppy up right there at Tuscon airport. I highly recommended purchasing one of Velate’s puppies. I couldn’t be more in love with my sweet girl and couldn’t imagine my life without her now!

    I had a wonderful experience with Velate! All her puppy’s are beautiful! I came from Prescott Az so not too far…so worth the drive to get my sweet cockatoo puppy! Her name was Zinnia…I named her Moxie! After watching her for awhile the name fits! She’s confident, bold, and very brave around my other 2 dogs! I love her! Velate is so wonderful! She communicated during the whole process. We even talk on the phone which I appreciated so much! I highly recommend her, she’s a very good breeder with beautiful puppy’s!
