Meet the breeder

I'm Krista M., the breeder behind Desert Ridge Doodles located in Maricopa, AZ. At Desert Ridge Doodles we strive to produce resilient, healthy puppies with loving temperaments. We are lifelong dog owners and we love breeding your next family member!

Q. & A. with Krista

  • Why did you start breeding?

I started my program in 2024 after adopting a very special Poodle named Gracie, and knowing shortly thereafter I wanted to try my hand at breeding. I’ve had the pleasure of owning our sire as my personal dog for the last 7 years, and his personality combined with his health qualities made him a perfect choice for breeding. We currently have 6 poodles in our program!
  • What makes your program special?

My goal has always been to provide an excellent foundation to the puppies I produce and health test as much as possible. They in turn, can go on to live happy, fulfilled lives and be the easiest, healthiest dogs to own for their future families. I'm well-versed in all aspects of owning a dog and I'll be there for the long haul if you have any questions or need help with training.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Bernedoodle puppies include tiny, mini, medium, and standard sizes. Goldendoodle puppies include miniature, medium, and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Bernedoodle puppies include brown and white, brown, black and white, tri-color, phantom, blue merle, and merle. Goldendoodle puppies include cream, apricot, red, chocolate, black, phantom, merle, and parti. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Krista and her husband. From the very beginning, they showed kindness, openness, and genuine care throughout the entire process of adopting my sweet pup, Dusty (formerly known as Buck). They kept in touch and sent me updates and pictures of Dusty during his first eight weeks of life, which made me feel connected to him even before I brought him home. Their communication was clear, prompt, and thoughtful, which made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. What stood out most was their willingness to go the extra mile by offering to drive and meet me halfway when it came time to bring Dusty home. That gesture was a reflection of how considerate they are and how much they want their pups to go to good homes. Every interaction with Krista and her husband was filled with warmth, honesty, and care, and it was clear that they truly wanted the best for Dusty. Dusty has adjusted so well to his new home. He did wonderfully at the vet, is not afraid of sounds, and is playful, curious, and always wants to be part of the mix. All of this speaks to the positive exposure and loving care Krista and her husband gave him as a puppy. I would highly recommend Krista and her husband to anyone looking to adopt from people who genuinely care and approach the process with love and integrity.

From start to finish, Krista was phenomenal to work with as we navigated adding a new puppy to our family! Her profile on Good Dog was informative and I could tell she genuinely cared about each of the dogs she bred. She knew their personalities and what kind of family would best suite their needs. When we found our Ollie, she was willing to board him for us until after a trip we had planned, and then she made the drive to transport him to our city. She even arrived with an amazing care package to make his transition to a new home easier. Not only that, but weeks after we got our boy, I was at the vet with him but had forgotten his vaccine documentation at home, within minutes Krista was on the phone with the doctor providing all the information they needed. Above and beyond and we are so thankful to have found her!

We found Krista on Good Dog and immediately felt comfortable with her. She was very responsive and always answered all of our questions quickly. Krista was helpful in choosing the perfect match for us, we had originally planned on purchasing a different puppy but through conversations about specific characteristics and size, she helped steer us to the perfect pup! We are thrilled with our sweet Scout! We were stunned to hear when we picked her up (at 8wks of age) that she sleeps through the night without any potty accidents, and we found that to be true! Scout is training well, seems intelligent and is a healthy pup! Her first veterinary appointment with us was very positive. Krista loves her pups and it is obvious when you see and hold those sweet babies in your arms. On pick up day, Scout was beautifully bathed and seemed ready to meet new people. There was no fear, she adapted to us quickly. Scout loves getting wet, so bathing is not an issue! ☺️ If you’re thinking of bringing a new love into your life, I would highly recommend speaking with Krista. Her knowledge of the doodle breed seems to be spot on and you couldn’t find a more loving human first momma for your puppy!

Krista responded quickly to all my posts and answered all my remaining questions when delivering my puppy. Luna is in excellent health and had already received her first vaccination. Thanks to Krista's care and handling, Luna has transitioned well into her new home. Also much appreciated was the goodie bag filled with puppy food and treats, toys, and a blanket.

Krista was absolutely amazing, she was able to put us in contact with her vet so we could see how Enzo was doing and make sure he was healthy, she started training him prior to his arrival and the transition to training him in our own home has been absolutely wonderful, Enzo is so well behaved and such a sweet pup. Krista communicated his needs clearly prior to us getting him, we were able to get his food and start getting everything we needed for him well in advanced. When booking flights to fly out to pick up the pup, Krista was great, she was able to meet us at the airport with him and gave us some food for him which was wonderful. She communicated perfectly throughout the adoption process and clearly cares that each of her dogs go to a loving forever home. It has been delightful to work with Krista and her puppy’s are absolutely adorable and she jumps through every possible hoop to make sure they’re healthy and go to loving homes.
