I offer top-quality German Shepherd puppies with a focus on health, genetics, and temperament from my loving home to yours! I am passionate about my dogs and look forward to sharing the breed with others who love it just as much as I do! I am excited to connect with you!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I grew up with German Shepherds, and I love this breed. I am devoted to ensuring there are happy and healthy GSDs for others to enjoy, and I do so by responsibly growing this incredible breed. I have been very fortunate to work with some amazing mentors along the way!

  • What makes your program special?

    My passion for this breed is poured into every aspect of my breeding program. I carefully plan each litter with a focus on health, genetics, and temperament. Once puppies are born, I dedicate my time, energy, and attention to hand-raise each one to ensure a reliable temperament and cherished companionship. I want nothing more than to see each and every one of my dogs shine!

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include stock and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include sable, black, black and cream, black and silver, black and tan, blue, and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Devon

Devon has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Devon partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“Puppies are matched after a phone screening preferably a video chat so the buyer can see the puppy or puppies they are interested in.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $200 non-refundable deposit and between $600 - $2,300 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Deposit amount will differ on final price but 200$ is the least and $500 greatest unless otherwise stated.”

Contract & health guarantee

Devon may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Devon offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Devon directly.

Parent health testing

Devon Rugerio's German Shepherds reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for German Shepherds.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Brucellosis

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Full Embark Panel, Dominant Black DNA Test, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), DNA Disease Panel, DNA Profile, DNA Coat/Trait Panel, Wisdom Panel, D Locus (Dilute) DNA test, Animal Genetics Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Devon was amazing! You can really tell she doesn’t breed for the money, she does it to make these amazing pups! I love our little baby and night one he slept all night and had no accidents! (he came potty trained!) He has the best temperament and is so calm and smart. Devon did an amazing job at updates and facetiming so you can see your pup! On the first facetime before I chose my pup she showed me the area she has the pups in and showed me mom and dad. She was so informative and answered all of my many questions amazingly! Even after we picked up the dog she has been there for all of my questions and lovely updates! Thank you Devon for our lifelong best friend and thank you for being our most trusted breeder!

    Working with Devon was a delight. Very responsive and detailed about her pups. Devon had shared pictures and live videos along the way till pick up time. You could tell she really cared for each of the pups before they went to their forever homes. The early crate training and loud movies really helped with the transition to his new home. Being able to have a blanket from his pack helped keep him calm. I would highly recommend to others. Very healthy, pleasant, and smart pup.

    OMG! Devon was so very tentative and responsive. My Hondo is settling in very well thanks to Devon. She was so informative about everything and answered every question we had. She even agreed to meet us half way which saved us two hours off of our drive for pick up. This has been such cool and smooth experience through Good Dog. If I ever feel the need to get another German Shepherd puppy it would definitely be Her!
