Denise H.

Breeder of Havanese

Meet the breeder

I'm Denise H., the breeder behind Dixie's Finest Havanese located in Gloucester, VA. We love this breed and the experience of raising beautiful babies! Our mission is to raise pups that will become your best friend. We are a simple, family-run breeding program offering loving and loyal companions to others. We focus on quality care and health with each litter we raise.

Q. & A. with Denise

  • Why did you start breeding?

I am one of the lucky ones. 64 years ago, I was born to a family who raised and showed dogs. So it is safe to say I have been loving and training dogs literally my whole life.
  • What makes your program special?

I do my research before I make any cross. I only want to produce Havanese that are healthy and meet the breed standards. Each litter is recorded and notes about the puppies and their personality as well as overall appearance is included.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include chocolate and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
