Karra J.

Breeder of Australian Labradoodles

Meet the breeder

I'm Karra J., the breeder behind Doodle Roots located in Middlesboro, KY. Our goal is to stay true to the "ROOTS" of the original ALD by focusing on quality temperament and overall health. We feel the best dogs are those that are calm, loving, easy to train and healthy. We select only the healthiest, calmest, best temperament dogs for our program.

Q. & A. with Karra

  • Why did you start breeding?

I spent 18 years in education (most recently as a school counselor) and I always wanted a therapy dog to use with my students. After much research,I decided on an Australian Labradoodle. I adopted River and trained him as a therapy dog. River made an instant impact on our school community! Those loving interactions inspired me to start my own breeding program with this special breed.
  • What makes your program special?

We love dogs and we love people. We are a mother and daughter team who want to make a difference in this world. We feel that through our breeding program, so many people will realize what joy can come from owning an ALD. We believe in the power of relationships. So,our goal is for everyone to have a positive puppy buying experience where their new family member feels like it was made just for them!
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies include miniature and medium sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include caramel ice, caramel cream, caramel, caramel red, apricot, cream, chocolate, cafe, and lavendar. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
