Meet the breeder

I'm Sarah D., the breeder behind Double D Ranch Golden Retrievers LLC located in Bellevue, MI. We raise dark red Golden Retrievers in our home. Our dogs are healthy and happy and we take great pride in raising wonderful pups! We breed AKC/UKC dark red field Goldens at our home. We health test for hips, elbows, heart, and eyes and run genetics with all our dams and sires. We also have the puppies vet checked and they receive their first shots before they go to their new homes.

Q. & A. with Sarah

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got into breeding in hopes of bettering the breed. It started with my Sammy which was a rescue. He stole my heart with the first sight of him. That is where the love of Goldens started. As I educated myself on the breed and the standards I noticed that there were not a lot of quality in some of my choices for puppies. It seemed like it was quantity over quality out there while I was searching. I also noticed that there were not a lot of dark red goldens to choose from. And so it began.
  • What makes your program special?

My program will help connect Quality and Healthy Goldens to wonderful loving families. I strive to start the puppies out with the utmost care. I want to have quality and affordability without diminishing health.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are dark golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
