Meet the breeder

I'm Cassie W., the breeder behind Double W Golden Retrievers located in Kenyon, MN. We treat our dogs and puppies like family, and we give each pup all the loving care that we can to prepare them for their forever homes. We are proud of our program, our health testing, and our dogs, and look forward to helping you find your next furry family member.

Q. & A. with Cassie

  • Why did you start breeding?

We purchased Brandy in 2013 with the intention for her to be our pet, and maybe if everything played out perfectly we could breed her. She ended up being just perfect in our eyes, so we did a lot of health testing and training, found the perfect stud, and decided to breed her. The rest is history. We kept a puppy from her to breed, and now are breeding a dog from the third generation.
  • What makes your program special?

We hold ourselves to very high standards. As you can see, we complete all health screening recommended for our breed, plus more testing we decided to do for ourselves. We pride ourselves in our puppy socialization, and our pups live in the house and are part of the family while they are with us.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

Double W Golden Retrievers has given us 2 absolutely wonderful dogs and we could not be happier with them. Cassie is the easiest person to work with, and you can tell that she has such a passion for this breed that carries into how she runs her breeding program. Every pup is so cared for, and all families are selected carefully to give each one a perfect home. Cooper and Hank are our 2 goofy guys and we love them endlessly!

We are so happy with our golden retriever, Sophie, from Double W Golden Retrievers! Cassie and family put a lot of work and love into the puppies preparing them for their new homes. From daily exposure to new stimulating/enriching experiences, matching puppies based on their temperament and personalities to families' needs, crate and training introduction, and her continued support upon arriving home - Cassie goes above and beyond to make the transition home with her puppies a successful one! Highly recommend!

Working with Cassie has been an absolute joy! From our very first conversation to well after our puppy came home, she has been thoughtful, supportive, and clearly passionate about the dogs she breeds. Our Double W Golden has been the greatest addition to our family! She is incredibly loving, friendly with everyone she meets—especially kids—and has the perfect balance of athleticism and calm. Whether she's out being active or curled up for a snuggle, she’s happy as long as she’s with us. She's earned multiple AKC titles and even serves as a therapy dog, which speaks volumes about her temperament and training. Cassie and her family truly go above and beyond to raise well-rounded, healthy, and happy Goldens. We couldn’t be more grateful!
