I'm Butch C., the breeder behind Downunder Labradoodles USA located in Raleigh, NC. When DownUnder Labradoodles USA was founded in 2002, we became one of the first Australian Labradoodle breeders in North America. We breed top-flight, multi-generation Australian Labradoodles. We put a premium on health, temperament and conformation.
Q. & A. with Butch
Why did you start breeding?
I wanted a non-shedding dog. I ended up flying to Australia to meet the founder of the breed and purchased my first breeding dog from her. I joined the board of directors and have spent many years working to better the breed.
What makes your program special?
I am a small boutique breeder that only does about 4 to 6 litters a year. Special attention is paid to a healthy, clean environment for the pups. I prioritize proper health testing of the breed per the ALAA standards.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies include miniature, medium, and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include caramel cream, caramel, red, apricot, chocolate, cafe, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.
