Meet the breeder

I'm Renee H., the breeder behind Dragon Ridge Corgis located in Deming, NM. Health & temperament are our biggest focus. We start early neurological stimulation at 3 days old & continue with confidence building exercises while they are with us. In order to protect our puppies & family we do not allow visitors in our home to minimize the risk of exposure to our puppies.

Q. & A. with Renee

  • Why did you start breeding?

My love for raising puppies started on our family ranch. I would spend hours with my dad's hound dogs and cattle dogs. I started breeding Texas blue lacy dogs for my family to use on the ranch until we purchased our own home and I decided to change to corgis. As a vet tech I learned so much when it comes to maintaining the health and well-being of my dogs especially during pregnancy and whelping.
  • What makes your program special?

We follow an early neurological stimulation program (ENS) This program has many health benefits for a developing puppy which improve stress tolerance, cardiovascular performance, stronger adrenal glands, and greater resistance to disease. We continue with confidence building exercises while the pups are with us. Pups are more outgoing and less fearful as they grow into adults.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red, sable, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Since bringing Churro home, he has been doing amazingly well. He settled in quickly, is curious, sweet, and already showing such a great temperament. You can tell he was raised with care and love—he’s confident, affectionate, and just an absolute joy to have in our home. Working with Renee throughout the entire process was such a wonderful experience. She was kind, patient, and incredibly supportive, answering every question and making sure we felt comfortable and prepared every step of the way. Her communication and genuine care for her puppies truly stood out. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and we’re so grateful to Renee for bringing Churro into our lives. He’s already so loved 🐾

Renee was helpful throughout the process, from the inquiry through until we brought Toast home. In between this process, she sent videos and images and answered any questions, quelling any doubts about our first corgi purchase. When we got Toast, we were given a large binder with documents like his birth certificate and vaccination records, along with suggested schedules. She also gave us a large bag filled with treats, dog food, a blanket, and toys, all with their home and motherly scent, to help ease the transition. Toast has been an excellent addition to our family, and we love him so much. Thanks, Renee!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Dragon Ridge Corgis and couldn’t be happier with our decision. Renee is an exceptional breeder who genuinely cares about her puppies and the families they go to. She was incredibly responsive, answered all of our questions, often within minutes and kept us connected throughout the entire process with frequent updates and photos showing the puppies progression, including fun and adorable photo shoots that made the wait so special. Renee went above and beyond to make the transition home smooth by sending us home with food, treats, toys, and a blanket with the comforting scent of mom and littermates. She was also very accommodating and flexible with pickup, which we truly appreciated. Even after bringing our puppy home, she offered to continue being available if we ever had questions, which speaks volumes about her dedication and care. Our sweet corgi, Waffles, is everything we could have hoped for ♥️ loving, playful, incredibly smart, and full of personality. We are completely in love with her and so grateful to Renee and Dragon Ridge Corgis for bringing her into our lives. We highly recommend Dragon Ridge Corgis to anyone looking for a responsible, caring breeder who truly loves what they do.

Renee was so kind and accommodating when we were late to our appointment. Extremely good service and help with including a ton of essentials when we first got him. We’ve had Loki for a few weeks now and he’s absolutely adorable. Renee will definitely be our go to in the future! 🐶🐾❤️

Renee provided us a great experience. Throughout the whole time we waited for our puppy to be old enough to be picked up, she constantly provided written and visual updates at least once a week. Upon pick up she also provided us with a vaccination schedule, toys, food, treats, and so much more. Renee made this whole overall process very easy. She answered any questions we had very quickly and still answers any questions we have about our little cheerio. Definitely would recommend!
