I found Christy from Dreamy Doodles in Waterloo IL through Gooddog.com and proceeded to adopt one of their beautiful puppies online from two states away. We met at an agreed upon location in the state between us recently and she and her husband hand delivered the little bundle of happiness into my waiting arms. This was done on time, with vet records, favorite toys, a bag of puppy kibble, favorite snacks, several nice quality pee pads, a cute little paw print blankie with her litter mate's scents, and literally everything they could possibly have provided to help their puppy adjust to her new home! My puppy has bright eyes and a beautiful lustrous coat and is showing what I think is great weight gain--this is not a fat puppy--this is a fit active puppy. Christy and her husband are delightful and engaging and even after a long trip took their time providing information and answering questions. Because travel was involved, they provided an update during the trip with an ETA that was on target. It is somewhat daunting to adopt a puppy you have not seen and selected in person, not to mention transferring funds to a breeder you don't know, but such is the way of the world in which we look for what we want in a companion animal we will spend our lives with. I was literally adopting my roommate, and it was an important matter! I can say with certainty that these are people you can trust with this important transaction. Now a bit about my puppy's characteristics. She is whip smart and pretty much already potty trained outdoors or indoors. If I don't take her out in time she runs to her pee pad. She is very active but settles and rests at my feet when I am quiet and sitting. She was not familiar with a leash but "heel" seems to pretty much be natural when walking with me on or off leash. She sits when I bring my hand over her head which is my signal for sit. I have not given the verbal cue or given a treat, but it certainly indicates to me she has had a great deal of attention and handling! She watches my face attentively and pays amazing attention for her age. She is absolutely friendly to every human and animal she has met and there have been a number of each. She is a puppy after all and puppies are "mouthy" but she responds quickly to "no bite" when I remove something from her mouth and give her a chew toy. She organizes her favorite toys moving them back and forth from her crate to her "play pad" a moving blanket she pulled from a basket and spread out herself. She's a working dog! In my opinion, dogs and kids who are smart and well adjusted enough to entertain themselves are a blessing. Some of these characteristics are natural because of her breeding and some are because she has been raised right. All are a credit to her breeder. In conclusion, Christy and Dreamy Doodles are a pleasure to deal with. These are honest pet lovers who selectively produce a few beautiful, healthy pups. I was lucky to find them and adopt one of their kids, even from far away, sight unseen!
