I'm Annette W., the breeder behind Eden Dog located in Seadrift, TX. We combine cutting-edge research with the art of dog breeding to create dogs made specifically for the job of connected companionship. Our focus is predominantly temperament, working to help produce dogs that balance friendliness over wariness of strangers and confidence over excessive caution, without also producing a dog that is overly energetic, excitable, or who lacks focus and impulse control. A low-shed coat is my second priority and we DNA to ensure you get the coat type you are after. We look forward to introducing you to the puppy of your dreams!
Q. & A. with Annette
Why did you start breeding?
I joined the military, and that gave me the ability to go to college. Though I could not afford a veterinary program, I studied nursing and worked as a hospice nurse. I wanted to purchase a puppy for therapy and found it nearly impossible to find a solid candidate. I decided then to raise dogs for this purpose. I was amazed at the measurable effect therapy dogs had on my patients!
What makes your program special?
I DNA test puppies when shedding is an important factor so there is no guessing! I raise my puppies in my home and begin training immediately and offer incentives to train and pass a canine good citizenship test. I am available for advice, for life. I love dogs, but I love people more and want to help everyone get the most out of the experience of making a dog a part of your family.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies include tiny and mini sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
