I'm Elizabeth R., the breeder behind Elizabeth Reed located in New Hampshire. I’m a preservation breeder, of very unique dogs, I truly fell in love with the relationships showing and performance builds. I breed with the intention of bettering the breed and creating a happy, healthy dog for you to love. I make sure to do my part so families can get the very most out of their puppy!
Q. & A. with Elizabeth
Why did you start breeding?
It began with my pet puppy, who I promised to allow the breeder to show (finish his AKC championship). They called him a Mama’s boy and I had to show him. Slowly I began to enjoy it. I started showing puppies for another breeder which led toward helping her with her puppies and having co-owned dogs in my home. This led to whelping litters myself. It all boils down to it being for the love of the dogs.
What makes your program special?
The time I put into my puppies carefully exposes them to stresses and situations which can lead to reactive behavior in this breed. As they are considered a primitive breed this desensitization is of most importance during the first twelve weeks. I also offer continuous support through my puppy messenger groups which allows wonderful exchanges and support for issues before anything escalates.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
