I'm Timothy E., the breeder behind Ellis House of Bassetts located in Elmira, NY. We love to responsibly raise and train our puppies so they have the tools to be well-rounded, beloved family members. We fell in love with the breed because of their intelligence and personality. There’s hardly a better feeling than being able to share them with other families that will love them the way that we do!

Why did you start breeding?
We are a Bassett Family that Loves the Breed so we decided to Raise Bassett’s and share the love so everyone else can experience the Big hearts and loyalty these Beautiful fur babies have.What makes your program special?
I think we have a special program with our puppies. They are watched over 24 hours a day by our loving family. All the puppies are hand held and spoiled every day to get use being around people.we are not a puppy mill. Our puppies are raised and kept right in our house and have there own separate space. Everything is very clean and sanitized daily. The puppies are potty trained to do there duty on puppy pads.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are red and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA), Gonioscopy
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Primary Open Angle Glaucoma, Basset Hound Type
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
