Meet the breeder

I'm Kristin H., the breeder behind Enchanted Mesa Miniature American Shepherds located in Albuquerque, NM. Our dogs are raised in our home by the Sandia Mountains. We participate in multiple AKC venues, fully health test our dogs, and cherish them as family companions. We breed thoughtfully and infrequently to produce confident, versatile puppies for show homes and active families.

Q. & A. with Kristin

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got into breeding through my desire to help preserve and improve the Miniature American Shepherd by producing dogs that are sound in structure and temperament. Using the American Kennel Club breed standard as my guide, and breed club recommended health testing, I strive to contribute thoughtfully to the future of the breed while maintaining its versatility and integrity.
  • What makes your program special?

My program is shaped by decades in the sport, a true love for the Miniature American Shepherd, and a thoughtful, home-raised approach that prioritizes health, versatility, and lifelong support for my puppy families.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red tri-color, black tri, red merle, and blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
