I'm Martha Dobbins & Shirley Knaack, the breeder behind Encore French Bulldogs located in Marshall, MI. We raise our litters in our home to help set the foundation for happy and confident puppies to transition well into their forever homes. It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to make an impact on each individual puppy!
Q. & A. with Martha Dobbins & Shirley Knaack
Why did you start breeding?
It all began with one little spotted dog…Boomer. He was the very first French Bulldog to come live with us here at Encore. We were immediately infected with a serious case of Frenchie fever, and so Encore French Bulldogs began.
What makes your program special?
The health of our French Bulldogs has always been a very serious part of our breeding program.
Temperament is also a very, very big part of our breeding program. I plan as much for good personalities as I do for good health and conformation. A lot of effort is put into matching up the correct pedigrees, body types, temperaments and attitudes in my breedings. And then to match them up with the best possible home.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
