I'm Michelle K., the breeder behind Erisse Poodles located in Jonesborough, TN. We only breed poodles that are healthy, have wonderful temperaments, and are outstanding examples of their breed. Holding ourselves to high standards is paramount to the well-being of our dogs and to the integrity of our program.

Why did you start breeding?
Erisse began because we believe that responsible breeders are needed to preserve our purebreds. Having grown up with purebred dogs and done 20yrs of animal rescue, focusing primarily on the herding and toy breeds, we have seen firsthand what can happen. Not to mention, we, ourselves, have felt the pain of losing beloved pets, who came from bad breeding practices, at an early age.What makes your program special?
Our time in rescue has helped open our eyes to what is happening to our beloved purebreds. We want to preserve our breeds instead of being tempted by fads in the breeding world.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Getting a puppy from Michelle
Michelle has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

“Puppies will have been vet checked and received at least two rounds of vaccines before going home. They are microchipped and are AKC Limited Registration.”

For a girl born on Valentine's Day of 2020, right before the Covid lockdown happened, Davina has done well. Due to missing out on the crucial socialization during the formative time, she never felt comfortable in the show ring, but we did overcome a lot to earn her other titles.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Hereditary (Juvenile) Cataracts (HC; JC), von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), PRA, Rod-Cone Dysplasia 4 (rcd4), PawPrint Genetic Panel (Breed Specific), Osteochondrodysplasia, Miniature Poodle Type, Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures (NEwS), Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Chondrodystrophy (CDDY and IVDD Risk) with or without Chondrodysplasia (CDPA), GM2 Gangliosidosis, Poodle Type
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
