Meet the breeder

I'm Lacey M., the breeder behind Ever After Tails located in Troy, OH. At Ever After Tails, we raise puppies in our home as part of our family. As a homeschool mom and ethical breeder, I’m devoted to health, temperament, and thoughtful placements. We pour love and intention into every litter so each puppy’s story begins with care and trust.

Q. & A. with Lacey

  • Why did you start breeding?

My love for dogs and the miracle of new life led me into breeding. Being part of the miracle of birth and watching puppies grow is something I never take for granted. I fell in love with matching families with their perfect companion — seeing the smiles, the first cuddles, and the wagging tails makes it all worthwhile.
  • What makes your program special?

Our puppies are raised in our home, not a kennel. From early socialization to thoughtful daily interaction, we focus on confidence and connection. We prioritize ethical practices and careful placement so families feel reassured and excited. At Ever After Tails, we don’t just raise puppies — we help begin lifelong bonds.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Shihpoo puppies include tiny and mini sizes. Poodle puppies are toy size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Shih Tzu puppies include tricolor, black, blue, brindle and white, black and white, blue and white, liver and white, and brindle. Shihpoo puppies include black white and silver, liver and white, blue and white, and black and white. Yorkipoo puppies include tri-color, parti, and silver. Shorkie puppies include liver, gold, blue and tan, and black and tan. Poodle puppies include black, silver, parti, and phantom. Shichon puppies include cream, silver, black and white, and brown and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

We got our little Dexter from Lacey at Ever After Tails and had a great experience from the beginning. Lacey was extremely helpful, responsive, and genuine. She answered all of our questions, sent plenty of pictures and videos, and even spent over an hour with us on a video call. We went back and forth quite a bit before making our decision, and she always took the time to talk everything through with us. We live in Las Vegas, so my wife and daughter flew all the way to Cincinnati to pick Dexter up. Making that kind of commitment and traveling that far for a puppy we had never met in person was definitely a little nerve-racking at first, but everything went perfectly. Lacey met them at the airport, everything was exactly as promised, and Dexter came with all of his paperwork, vet records, and vaccinations appropriate for his age. I purposely waited about six weeks before leaving a review because I wanted to see Dexter’s health, temperament, and behavior for ourselves. We couldn’t be happier with him. He came to us remarkably well behaved, already potty trained, outgoing, confident, friendly, and not timid at all. We also took him to our own veterinarian for a full examination, and our vet said he was very healthy, including his joints and overall development. Dexter has been an amazing dog and has completely made himself at home with our family. He’s a tough, healthy, happy-go-lucky little guy with a great personality. Everything Lacey told us and promised us was exactly what we received. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lacey and Ever After Tails, especially to someone considering making the trip from out of state like we did.

I had an amazing experience with Lacey from start to finish. Lacey was wonderful to work with kind, knowledgeable, and responsive. You can tell she puts so much love and care into raising her puppies. Our puppy came home happy, healthy, well socialized, and incredibly well behaved. It was obvious he had been raised in a loving environment and given an excellent start in life. She also answered all of my questions and made the entire process smooth and enjoyable. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a healthy, well adjusted puppy from a breeder who truly cares. We couldn’t be happier with our experience and our new addition to our family!!

I had an amazing experience with Lacey! From my very first inquiry to the day we brought Mochi home, she was kind, supportive, and incredibly knowledgeable. She patiently answered every question I had—and there were a lot! Mochi has been such a wonderful addition to our family, and it’s clear that Lacey genuinely cares about each and every puppy she raises. Her dedication, professionalism, and love for her dogs shine through in every step of the process. I can’t recommend Lacey highly enough. She goes above and beyond to help every family find the perfect puppy, and we’re so grateful for everything she did for us!

Lacey was very responsive and updated us through the whole process, including pictures before and after the puppies were born. We told her we wanted a playful boy and we sure got that! He adjusted to his new home very quickly, thanks to all the hands on play he received in Lacey’s home. We love our little Bogey!

Hi, my name is Debbie and I own little Cocolino, he is a shorkie, that is a mixture of a shih tzu and a yorkie terrier. Cocolino is my second Shorkie, they are wonderful dogs, well at least for me. At first, I didn’t know where to purchase a shorkie, I don’t trust a lot of people, and organizations. I searched and searched, and ran into Gooddog, and then, I met Lacey. When I was speaking to her I felt that I could trust her. I saw the cutest shorkie, it’s my shorkie with the name Cocolino. I LOVE HIM I love the way they handled everything. Lacey really cares about her puppies. She cares about the puppy’s health, who is buying the puppy and learn about their new home, make sure that their future will be ok. I don’t have much to do, he eats on his own, drinks, and it’s wonderful that he Goes potty in the tray with wood pallets. He is friendly, lovable, and its all on Lacey and how she trained him and treated him. You can tell how he was treated and raised. I am grateful to have met Lacey, I highly recommend Her, looking at the puppies and how they are tells a lot about Lacey. If you want to buy a puppy Check out Lacey at Gooddog, you will not be sorry.
