Cardiac Evaluation
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

Courtney went above and beyond raising these puppies until they were ready to go to their forever home. She provided constant updates multiple times per day and was (still is) very responsive through the whole process. Her house is setup in a way that allows the puppies access to a fenced in play area outside, I feel this helped establish independence and allowed them to explore new areas on their own. It also got them used to going outside to use the bathroom. My Maple is very confident, curious, strong, and adventurous; she also isnt frightened by much. She is playful, happy, and loves meeting new people. My second Beagle unexpectedly got sick a few months before her 3rd birthday and we had to put her to sleep so I have been through the process before with another breeder. The experience with Courtney was completely different in a good way, I thought breeders were the same but she was next level.

My wife and I were so lucky to have found Courtney when we decided to look for a beagle breeder near us. We liked all of the “What’s Included’ on her page like Enrichment, Socialization, and Initial Potty Training. I can say that, from the time we first contacted Courtney, she has exceeded even the expectations we had from what we saw was included on her page. She readily responds to questions, both before (if you put down an early deposit), throughout the 8 weeks after they are born, and even afterwards (we’ve had “Brown Boy” now for just over 2 weeks). She also goes above and beyond to give you updates on your puppy after they are born. You get not only weekly photos to see how your puppy is growing, but also videos and photos throughout the week to see how they are doing and what socialization Courtney is working on with them. It’s a unique experience that really helps you feel like you know your puppy when it’s time to bring them home. From the time they are born, until the time you bring your puppy home, you can tell that Courtney treats each puppy like family. After getting “Brown Boy,” now known as Max, home, you can see just how good of a job Courtney and her family did getting him ready to come to his forever home. We can’t recommend her highly enough if you’re looking for a caring and responsible breeder!

Courtney was great to work with. She's very knowledgeable about Beagles and so obviously cares about her dogs' and their pups' well-being. She goes out of her way to provide a stimulating environment for the dogs and updates for her clients about the pups' progress. She was also very accommodating when it came time for pickup. If we decide to get another Beagle in a couple years Courtney will be our first call.

I found Courtney and Fable & Fern Beagles through Good Dog, and I'm so thankful I did. Courtney was very communicative throughout the whole process....sending us updates on the pregnant mother dog, and then daily photos & videos of the puppies. Her care and love for her puppies was evident before meeting Courtney, but even more clear once we brought our puppy home. Our dog (Badie) was really set up for success. She was healthy....coming equipped with paperwork from her 1st vet appt and already having received 1 vaccine....she was curious to "check out" new things (like our house, the yard, new toys, etc), loved her crate and slept in it from the moment we brought her home, had a great start at potty training, is a SWEET girl who loves being loved and doesn't mind us picking up her paws, is used to being around young kids (of which we have two), is good with loud noises (thunder the other night and the screwdriver of the refrigerator repairman today, for example!), and the list goes on. During Badie's 1st vet appointment here at home, the vet said that she "clearly came from a great breeder." :) We needed to pick up Badie from Courtney early in the morning before an 8 hour drive home, so Courtney got up at 5am that day to feed her in order to make sure she would be as ready as possible for that long car ride. That story demonstrates the care Courtney gave our sweet Badie. We're forever thankful!

It was truly a pleasure working with Courtney throughout this entire process. Her knowledge, professionalism, and dedication were evident every step of the way! The consistent photos, videos and updates allowed us to follow our puppy’s journey from day one and made us feel connected throughout the process. It was clear how much time and care she invested in preparing each puppy for their new family. Thanks to that foundation, the transition into our home was incredibly smooth. We couldn’t be happier with our experience and would highly recommend Courtney to anyone looking for a responsible and caring breeder who truly loves what she does!

Courtney is a very knowledgeable breeder. In a home environment the mom and puppies grow up around a very loving family. She is spot on with information and pictures to you. We made a fantastic pick by getting her and going through Good Dog. Our Beagle is such a joy and so smart too, at 8weeks and 3 days he already knows to whimper at the back door to go out. Wagyu is Gift from Heaven.
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
