Meet the breeder

I'm Leslie G., the breeder behind Falling Cedar Farm Samoyeds and Eurasier’s located in Soap Lake, WA. Our breeding program specializes in temperament, structure, and socialized puppies for family homes focusing on health and the AKC standard. I strive to make sure every owner has the ability to get the very best out of their puppy.

Q. & A. with Leslie

  • Why did you start breeding?

I developed a friendship with a woman who mentored me. She shared her knowledge of the breed and showed me how to follow the basics and the standard of the Samoyed and how amazing they are as a companion.
  • What makes your program special?

I emphasize AKC standards for the breed, and that each puppy finds the best forever home through online application, phone interviews, and in person meetings. I am involved with new owners throughout the journey of ownership of a Samoyed. The families can come to interact with the puppies and the parents, and I have an open-door policy!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Samoyed puppies include white and cream. Eurasier puppies include red, sable, and fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Communication with Leslie was prompt and helpful! Consistent messages and photos throughout the process kept me up-to-date on the puppy's growth and day-to-day activities. Leslie truly went above and beyond. When weather for pick-up day looked iffy on the mountain pass forecast, she drove 3/4 of the distance to meet us on our side of the pass with the available puppies. She included very thorough paperwork and a care package with our puppy, which has been very handy. And most importantly, in our first few weeks at home with the pup, Leslie has been very supportive with answering questions and giving advice via text. This little guy has been a joy and we loved him instantly. We are very grateful to Falling Cedar Farm for this whole experience.
