Meet the breeder

I'm Toni R., the breeder behind Family Loved Golden Retrievers located in Yuba City, CA. We specialize in breeding healthy, well-tempered pups, beginning ENS/ESI at 3 days old to build confidence and adaptability—and our dedication doesn’t stop there. Puppies are safely socialized in our home and temperament-tested to ensure the perfect match for family, therapy, or service roles.

Q. & A. with Toni

  • Why did you start breeding?

I fell in love with Golden Retrievers and was inspired to help others find truly exceptional dogs, ones known not only for their beauty, but for their outstanding temperaments. Our journey began with a dog from a backyard breeder, which ultimately motivated me to raise the standard and do things the right way.
  • What makes your program special?

We focus on health, temperament, and purpose. Our puppies are raised with ENS/ESI and intentional socialization to develop confident, intelligent dogs. At 7 weeks, trainer-led temperament testing helps ensure the best match for each family. With 10+ years of experience, we raise exceptional Goldens for service, therapy, and family life. See our Google reviews for Family Loved Golden Retrievers.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include dark golden, golden, and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

Getting a puppy from Toni

Toni has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Toni partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.

“At Family Loved Golden Retrievers, our priority is placing each puppy in the home where they will truly thrive. Placement is thoughtfully based on temperament, lifestyle compatibility, questionnaire responses from buyers, and gender/ litter preference when possible. Each puppy undergoes a structured temperament evaluation led by certified trainers to guide the best match, so selection is based on overall fit—not just color or appearance. When multiple puppies are well-suited for a home, families are invited to choose between two matched puppies on pickup day. Selection order follows deposit order. Final placement occurs at 8–9 weeks, allowing us to assess each puppy’s developing personality and ensure the best possible match.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 refundable deposit and between $3,500 - $4,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.
Pay over time with Klarna.

“Puppies come with AKC registration, a 2-year health guarantee, vet check, vaccines, deworming, microchip, 30 days of Trupanion insurance, a scented comfort toy, and ongoing support. If a puppy is held past 8–9 weeks due to buyer cancellation, reasonable, documented care costs (food/boarding $40/day, deworming, vaccines, vet care) may be deducted from the refund.”
