Meet the breeder

I'm Yvette V., the breeder behind Fancy Danes located in Gansevoort, NY. Each of my dogs is bred with temperament and conformation in mind. Each male and female are health tested before they are bred. I am very transparent and communicative with all of my buyers by sharing all information about the puppy and their parents. As a breeder, I feel a sense of responsibility to prioritize the overall health and temperament of each of my puppies and to ensure that they are loved and well cared for prior to joining their forever homes.

Q. & A. with Yvette

  • Why did you start breeding?

I began breeding because I fell in love with the Great Dane breed and wanted to bring that love to others. I have always owned rescued puppies and had never really considered breeding. Until one day, I fell in love with the most gentle dog and decided that bringing that joy to others was something I was meant to do. The fulfillment of seeing new puppies born, watching them grow, and helping shape them and train them in preparation for their new forever homes is the most rewarding experience ever!
  • What makes your program special?

When puppies leave my home they each go home with a puppy package that contains a photo disc with a summary of the first 8 to 10 weeks of their life, a receiving blanket with mom's and the littermates' scents on it, and a small bag of food so you can transition to what you would like to feed your new baby. Getting a puppy from me also means you will always have help when you need it and your puppy will be happy, healthy, and thoroughly socialized.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include blue, harlequin, mantle, merle, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
