I'm Laura & Mike F., the breeder behind Farley Goldens located in Denton, TX. Our puppies are part of our family -raised inside our home with lots of 24 hr attention. We raise them for companionship and therapy work. We socialize them to help prepare them for their new home. We follow Puppy Culture methods mixed with Avidog principals & 15 years of experience breeding.

Why did you start breeding?
We used to foster dogs in the '80s & '90s for the SPCA so we got to see many different breeds. We fell in love with the Goldens. Laura rescued a Golden mix in '85 and then another in '86. We've had Goldens since then. Our vet approached us with the idea of breeding our female early in 2010 & found out we love the process & the pups & trying our best to get them for their future homes.What makes your program special?
Our dogs are part of our family. They follow us everywhere. Since our program is smaller we are able to spend lots of time with them. We don't rehome breeding dogs when they retire and if we don't think a dog is good for breeding we won't breed them. Also, we are always learning new ways to help socialize the pups for their new lives. We do ENS along with ESI scent work days 3-16.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

About Skye
Skye is sweet, spunky and always the pleaser. She loves to swim, chase everyone and follows me everywhere in the house. She lives to cuddle and make friends. She is our velcro dog. She has OFA Excellent hips and Awesome genetics! She is usually around 62 lbs and is a very light cream color.

About Starr
Starr is our Montana girl from Rockin B Goldens - She is a great mix of both her championship parents, Teddy (Tramin Terminus) and Lady (Tramin Know-It-All-Lady - double Champion). She is very self confident, serious but playful and even as a puppy seemed to have a certain wisdom about her. She is very gentle and has a great sense of smell. She still likes to watch her half sister, Skye play in the water. I like to think she supervises Skye & lets her sister know when she needs to get out. Getting her feet wet or sitting on the top step is about as far as she gets so far. She also loves to explore on our walks. Starr passed all her health clearances and is ready for our breeding program!

About Boba Fett
Boba is a sweet fluffy boy that was born in our home in Denton. His dad is Maks (Tramin Tender Heart that we imported from Tramin Kennels in Ukraine) and his mom is Sandi (Miss Texas Starr) that we got from Lake Country in Michigan. So his lines come from both Tramin and Majik with countless European relatives and a long line of Championships. Boba has a love for water, balls and stuffies that both his mom & dad still have. He loves going on adventures with his pawrents Trey & Amanda. He even got to be a part of Trey & Amanda getting engaged in Colorado last summer! We are hoping for Boba to get certified in Therapy work this fall so he can go visit Oncology patients with Amanda. Boba has awesome health clearances and genetics!

About Maks
Maks is a beautiful, fun loving tender hearted Golden Retriever that is from the famous Tramin Kennels in Ukraine. He is very gentle, affectionate and loves to dance so we named his call name after Maks on Dancing with the Stars. Maks also loves to swim, run zoomies and always has a stuffy or ball in his mouth waiting for pets. He is a big marshmallow that loves hugs.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
