I'm Michael U., the breeder behind F&B Kennels located in New York. Breeding Great Danes based on health, temperament, and longevity. Traditional and alternative colors, with traditional structure. My dogs live in our home with us and enjoy extensive training and enrichment opportunities.
Q. & A. with Michael
Why did you start breeding?
My Gundagard. Best dog I've ever owned. I wanted to share the love and happiness of the breed.
What makes your program special?
Because, for me, I believe that color is paint. There's no reason a fawnaquin can't be as healthy, temperamentally and structurally sound like a traditional fawn. I'm breeding to keep Structural integrity in all Danes.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.

Auggie is a chocolate fawnaquin. OFA'D auscultation and echo, thyroid, elbows-Normal Hips-Pennhip, .31 OFA'D excellent
Konstantin, dad
Great Dane
About Konstantin
Konstantin is my 3 year old proven male. He's got the most laid back "Love Everyone" personality out all my boys. If he were to be compared to a person, I'd say Elvis. He is a joy to own, and pretty much can go anywhere without a blink of an eye.
Parent health testing
Breeder-Reported Testing
Excellent level
F&B Kennels reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Great Danes.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
