Meet the breeder

I'm Kellene L., the breeder behind Fetching Toy Aussies located in Harrison, OH. I love breeding the toy-sized Australian Shepherd. They are so loving and easy to train. Each one looks so different- blue merle, red merle, black tri, and red tri. My focus is the toy Aussie ranging from 10-14 inches and averaging 8-14 lbs. Puppies are raised in our home as pets and with much love.

Q. & A. with Kellene

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got my first toy Aussie in 2008 and fell in love with the breed. After extensive research about the breed, breeding practices, and genetics, my family began collecting dogs for breeding. We train and show dogs now. It is such a wonderful combination of physical activity and mental activity.
  • What makes your program special?

All dogs are tested for genetic diseases. Vaccinations are kept up to date. Food is carefully selected and prepared. Dogs are part of the family and roam the house and sleep in our beds. Breeding pairs are selected to produce offspring consistent with breed standards. Puppies are raised using the Puppy Culture method. They are loved, cuddled and well adapted.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Kellene provided a great experience from start to finish. She provided valuable information from feeding, grooming, potty training and just all around care. Her wealth of knowledge eased the process tremendously. She was easy to communicate with and helped arrange a half point meeting spot to help ease the travels of picking up our sweet girl. Kellene is great and always responded to my messages and questions! We had a wonderful experience meeting her and her husband. The process went smoothly and we couldn’t be happier with Jojo (Raven). She’s a great little pup and growing like a weed. She gets along great and plays hard with her older sister Luna! Thanks so much! Cheers! Gary
