I'm Donna B., the breeder behind Finnvarr's Legacy Golden Retrievers located in Woodstock, CT. We show in conformation and performance to assure well rounded Goldens. Most importantly we breed for temperament, so that they create joy in their families and receive endless love in return. We livestream when we have puppies at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClzuxNKOtZmz7IHwKedOHWQ.
Q. & A. with Donna
Why did you start breeding?
We had a Golden Retriever that we absolutely loved - our Soul puppy. Everyone said we should breed him, and we wanted to, but we wanted to do it right. So after 5 years of showing in Obedience, Rally, and Conformation, we had our first litter of puppies with the help of a dedicated/experienced mentor who helped us along the way.
What makes your program special?
We are a family, and the dogs live within our home. We have 5 Golden Retrievers currently, and we adore them. I have multiple mentors who guide me, and I am always looking at ways to continue to educate myself in all matters related to Golden Retrievers. As a NICU nurse, I have tons of experience with birth and caring for babies, and it is my passion. I have a very supportive husband. We are passionate about Goldens, and our love for these dogs shines through in every aspect of our breeding program.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
