I'm Ken L., the breeder behind FireAway Farms located in Fond Du Lac, WI. We hold ourselves to high standards for the integrity of our program. All of our puppies are socialized, nurtured, and loved! Our goal is to produce healthy dogs with amazing temperaments while leaving a legacy of greatness in the breed. We are dedicated advocates for proper breeding techniques.

About Kimber Lou
The dam is a 67lb show golden dam and offers exceptional structure, calm temperament, and beautiful conformation with the sweetest personality and always wanting to go run trials. With her first litter of 9 and 9 incredibly happy owners whom all offered to give rave recommendations on the quality of puppies and the detailed early stage upbringing. I will be more than willing to share these volunteered owners as references.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Ichthyosis, Golden Retriever Type, Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis 5 (NCL5), Golden Retriever Type
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
