Q. & A. with Kimberley
Why did you start breeding?
While many breeders blindly jump in and start breeding, I chose to take 16 years to study the breed extensively before breeding. Structure. Health. Movement. Soundness. Temperaments. This was my commitment to you and most importantly, my commitment to the Golden Retriever breed. The preservation of the breed and the breed standard for which the breed was carefully outlined is what I strive for in my breeding program. Not just breeding puppies, but breeding a Golden Retriever Legacy for the future.
What makes your program special?
Firefly Cottage Golden Retrievers goes above and beyond with every breeding. AKC bred does not equal quality bred. AKC registered is just the basic start. What makes an AKC Golden QUALITY is in it's breeders decisions and the quality of the dogs being bred. These decisions at Firefly Cottage are never taken lightly. It's not to produce the next top show dog, it's about the Health, Longevity and Livability of YOUR next Golden family member.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
