I'm Ann H., the breeder behind Firefly English Springer Spaniels located in Sandy Ridge, PA. Springer Spaniels are a joy and passion in my life. I breed both show and pet puppies, with a focus on temperament, intelligence, and adherence to the Springer standard. Once puppies are off to their new homes, I love to keep a connection with their forever families, and I am always available for consultation throughout the dog’s life.
Q. & A. with Ann
Why did you start breeding?
Like many others, we adopted a stray Springer and later took a special needs Springer. After the loss of my little mixed breed dog, I decided I wanted to become a part of the dog show world with a show Springer. I was mentored for many years on Springers. I love the puppies, and I love training in dog sports as well. Though not a “big” breeder, I am very careful of bloodlines, study pedigrees, genetic health, etc. in order to raise stable companions with Springer drive.
What makes your program special?
My goal is to produce the most stable and healthy pups possible. My adults are show dogs. When finished with their ring career, we go into a dog sport, even the breeding dogs. They are from the best bloodlines in the country. I am very careful with their training and socialization, always keeping in mind their future homes and making sure they will be prepared once they go to their forever families.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
