I'm Domino P., the breeder behind Firestorm Chinese Shar Pei located in Weatherford, TX. We take responsible breeding very seriously. Our program was built with care & intention in every step. We are passionate about the health and wellbeing of this breed, and we want our program to be an example of how to responsibly breed high-quality, healthy dogs. We do Embark & OFA health testing.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My ex-husband had his first Pei when we met and we learned about breeding and showing together. I met my mentor Pat Evetts in 1997. She has always taught me that integrity is the most important thing in breeding.

  • What makes your program special?

    I do all the health testing available. I only do a breeding when I’m ready for a new puppy to show and don’t breed on a large scale. My bitches normally have 2 litters. Once in a while they may have a third but that’s rare. I don’t breed my dogs before 2 years old & usually it’s closer to 3. All our puppies are raised in the living room with the family and with lots of love and attention.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies are red fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
