I'm Christy M., the breeder behind Flightsong Minis located in Greensboro, NC. We began breeding Miniature American Shepherds for sports and have also had some lovely show Champions along the way. We strive for outstanding health and temperament and breed for dogs able to work, whether as sport dogs, show dogs or long-term companions.
Q. & A. with Christy
Why did you start breeding?
As someone who was involved in the process of bringing the Miniature Australian Shepherd into AKC as the Miniature American Shepherd, it was only natural that my love and involvement would grow. From breeding primarily for sports to now working on breeding typey dog with a lovely temperament, structure and movement, my goals have evolved and I'm always eager to see what each new litter brings!
What makes your program special?
I maintain several heritage working lines and try to stay true to them, while working to bring in lovely looks and a wonderful temperament. My goal is always to be able to breed a dog with clean movement and athleticism. We believe our dogs should be available to anyone willing to learn about their particular needs. We offer a health guarantee and a lifetime of support for our puppy families.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.
