I'm Stepheni L., the breeder behind Floyd B Poodle located in Flint, MI. We breed for Poodles pretty enough for the show ring, smart and athletic enough for the performance ring and most importantly loving temperments for the couch.
Our dogs tend to have a low to medium drive. But, we strive for a shut down to couch potato in the home. Which our Sire has and seems to consistently produce.
Our Sire has the never met a stranger temperament and is known for his love of children. We strive to continue this and pick our females accordingly.
Having a horse/ farm background a no-to-low prey drive is very important to us for safety reasons. Our Sire has no prey or chase drive for livestock, is friends with the barn mice, and is great with pocket pets and birds. Also, understands that cats are superior beings and run the world.
While we strive for all the above, we realize that every puppy has a different degree of work, activity, and prey drive. Each puppy is evaluated to ensure the best match for each family's needs and preferences are met to ensure success.
While we breed for the show ring, the most important job any of our dogs can perform is that of being a family pet.
Not only do we health test, but we try to stay away from bringing any females into our line that have skin issues, ear issues, or allergies of any kind.
We also believe that a lot of behaviors are genetic and make every effort to not bring females into our line that have anxiety issues, separation issues, chewers, or sock/item eaters.
Our parents are house dogs that sleep in our bed. Puppies are raised in the living room underfoot. We use Early Neurological Stimulation to handle and prepare our puppies for the future.
We don't expect anyone to live with a puppy that we wouldn't want to live with. We are here for the lifetime of the puppy.
