I'm Steven & Jennifer F., the breeder behind Fontana Farm located in Raceland, LA. We are a family farm of home-based hobby breeders that produce Dutch Shepherd puppies to those seeking working dogs, farm dogs and family pets. We aim to produce puppies that are both physically and mentally sound with drive for service work, sport and pet levels.

Why did you start breeding?
We own a male and female Dutch Shepherd as family pets with intent on keeping the bloodline of our two dutchies growing over-time for our small family farm.What makes your program special?
We are not professional breeders; we are a farm family that produce Dutch shepherd puppies as hobby breeders because we love the breed so much. We strive to produce quality puppies that are healthy, and both physically and mentally sound. We aim for a suitable drive that is interchangeable for work, sport or pets.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black brindle and gold brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

About Rogan
Rogan is gentle-natured, responds to commands, is a fast-learner and loves to be outdoors! He enjoys running in fields, hunting and scent tracking. He is very athletic and amazing at jumping! He loves jumping up into oak trees, can easily clear a 6 ft fence with minimal effort and absolutely loves to dig. He is calm, with a patient demeanor and socializes well in public and around other humans. He is up to date on all his shots and has all health clearances including OFA certified hips and elbows. He comes from a very strong bloodline. Big Roy is his grandad who was the winner of the 2013 championship from the Dutch Police dog association (there are tons of You Tube Videos available to view!). His dad is Alpha Vin Sickle, a three-time world champion that chomps like a gator and has a strong bite grip. We can provide copies of his bloodline upon request! Check out his videos we have posted- showing this amazing dog in action and his lovable personality!

About Siren
Siren is a loyal, protective family guard dog. She is gentle-natured to those close to her and gets along well with other animals. She is quick to protect! The back of her spine from her head down to her tail will stand straight up like a mohawk when she is on alert and will quickly enforce protection with a growl! She is very aware of her surroundings and picks up on scents and tracking fast. She loves the water, loves water sports (jumping, catching and retrieving in the pool) and is super quick on foot! She is loving, enjoys family time and lots of attention, but enjoys her independence as well. Her Dad is Ike, Ike is known for his superior temperament, exemplary social skills (both with dogs and people), and his extreme athleticism. He is strong, energetic, and excels in any physical activity. He is highly disciplined, obedient, and easy to train, making him a joy to work with. Additionally, Ike's love for adventure makes him a great companion for outdoor activities and social gatherings with friends and family. Overall, Ike's athletic abilities combined with his superior temperament make him a top performer in any situation. Her mom is Tomoe, Tomoe comes from a long, historical line of strong KNPV dogs. Daughter of the world famous Devil Pegge, Tomoe is a shining example of her breed, with a strong work ethic, exceptional drive, and unwavering dedication to her tasks. Tomoe's dedication to her work is unmatched, and she is always eager to learn new skills and tasks. Her high energy level and quick wit make her a dynamic and versatile working dog, capable of adapting to different environments and tasks with ease. Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (Preliminary)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

We recently lost our dog and found a picture on Good Dog of Fontana Farms dogs. We reached out and Jennifer was very responsive, answered all of my questions and we were able to get our puppy in the next few days. We were able to meet and see both of our puppys parents, a shot record and necessities were in a bag ready to go. Jennifer made this very easy. And we love our puppy, Blue! Top notch. Steven and Jennifer were fantastic to work with. Jennifer is very knowledgeable. She’s prompt in replying and easy to ask questions. Steven met me with my pup (purple/Granita) now named Gracie. He brought a pup packet with vet info and records, plenty of kibble for the flight home, and toys and snacks. He hung out for a bit while Gracie got comfortable with me and was super helpful regarding her habits and temperament. Bottom line they’re great. Now the good stuff! It’s been a day and a half. I couldn’t ask for a more stable puppy. She’s got drive and a little spiciness, already taking to training. She’s also ready to plop down a chew a bully stick or nap in the house. Great balance. At 14 weeks she proceeded to sleep 2.5 hours on the flight, then walked off the plane and followed me through the Denver airport taking it all in. No reactivity, no barking or whining. A champion! I’m already recommending them to friends.
