I'm Jules L., the breeder behind Fortuna Farms located in Micanopy, FL. We are experienced breeders of show-quality Dalmatians and Lagotto Romagnolo. Our puppies are raised with care, and we only sell to responsible homes. Our program is focused on breeding dogs that are healthy, well-structured, and have outstanding temperaments. We have high expectations for our puppies and strive to place each one in an enriching and loving home!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Breeding is the ultimate act of preservation. On our farm we selectively breed only the best animals, that we feel are offering improvement to their own species. Our horses, dogs, livestock, and rabbits are held in the highest regard, and bred to the breed standard of perfection. Purpose and preservation is a central theme on our farm. We strive for the healthiest animals, with the best temperament and breed type.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our Dalmatian puppies include white and liver brown and white and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and guardian homes.

Getting a puppy from Jules

Jules has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,000 - $4,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Dalmatians are $2500 Lagotti are $4500. All puppies, regardless of registration type/color/gender, are sold for the same price. The same amount of care, planning, health testing, socializing, etc goes in to each and every one of them. . The deposit commits you to the sale of the puppy. If something changes, and you can no longer take the puppy you reserved- your deposit will be help for a future litter. No deposits will be refunded, but all of our puppies have a health guarantee. Fortuna Farms reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Dalmatians.

  • Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary), Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (Preliminary)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
