I'm Alexa A., the breeder behind Fox Mtn Brittanys located in Albemarle County, VA. We value responsible breeding practices and want to do our part to ensure Brittanys will continue to thrive. We built our program with care and intention in every step. We are passionate about the health and wellbeing of this breed, and it is our goal to provide each dog that comes from our program with a solid foundation of good health, neurological development, and loving care. We look forward to introducing you to the puppy of your dreams!
Q. & A. with Alexa
Why did you start breeding?
I began showing Brittanys in 2015 and was hooked. I brought home my first Brittany puppy in 2016 and we instantly bonded. In addition to showing in AKC conformation events I began to look at the field side of Brittanys. I started field trialing and doing hunt test and had a lot of fun! Shortly after I discovered wild bird hunting with my Brittany companion; there's nothing quite like it.
What makes your program special?
What makes our breeding program special is we pay extra close attention to ensuring the Brittany remains a dual dog. We breed moderate dogs that fit the breed standard, are highly intelligent and biddable. We also strive to produce dogs with excellent bird sense, and a high quality nose. Our dogs may high energy but should not be high strung, with regular exercise they settle nicely in the house.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
